What are the Bags Under My Eyes?!
To put it ultra-simply, eye-bags are mild swelling or puffiness under the eyes. Bags under the eyes can also occur when the tissue structures and muscles supporting your eyelids begin to weaken.
Causes of Eye Bags
The most common cause of under-eye bags is ageing. Older skin becomes too loose and tends to fall or wrinkle, due to the slow-down in collagen production as we age. The muscles and tissues around the eye can also weaken and contribute to the baggy look. Eye bags can also be caused, or exacerbated by, dehydration, lack of sleep, allergies and a number of other triggers which make us look puffy.
How to Reduce Eye Bags
There are a number of things you can do to help to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags, from reducing your alcohol intake, drinking more water, getting more sleep and even cosmetic surgery!
